70th birthday

My Dad will be turning 70 this year, so in honor of his big day....here's the card I created for him. The scallop center, the banner and the background were designed with My Digital Studio Software and printed out.
The badge was created the Simply Scored tool. After the card is presented, the badge can be taken off and pinned to my Dad's shirt to wear on his birthday! Happy Birthday Dad!

Hope 2

In a previous post, I had created a scrapbook page for my Mom who has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and is currently undergoing chemo treatments. This is a card for her from the whole family to show support in her fight with cancer.

I created the 'subway art' on the photo with My Digital Studio software. After I placed the photo in, I changed the opacity to 50% to give it a subtle feel. I then took phrases off the Chose Hope.org website "What Cancer Cannot Do". Very beautiful poem. Here is what it says:

"What Cancer Cannot Do"

Cancer is so limited...

It cannot cripple love.
It cannot shatter hope.
It cannot corrode faith.
It cannot eat away peace.
It cannot destroy confidence.
It cannot kill friendship.
It cannot shut out memories.
It cannot quench the spirit.
It cannot silence courage.
It cannot reduce eternal life.

Quilted Anniversary

I needed to create an anniversary card, but was struggling to find something that fit my needs.  I saw the Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge....and I said to myself...this would be perfect for my card. I was even more excited when I saw the Clean & Simple Challenge.... these two challenges work so well together.  And, along with my 'Twitterpated' Designer Series Paper it was a no-brainer.  I love how this card came together.
Thanks for the inspiration Hand Stamped Sentiments and Clean & Simple!

Coulon Park

Working on our 2010 scrapbook. It's been difficult getting started with this one...I always seem to have issues with photo placement.  <--- I believe it's because I scrapbook so many photos on a page (my husband takes so many wonderful photos....I need to share them all!!! lol).
These were taken on a cool, but very sunny springlike day in the Northwest.  We had a wonderful time enjoying the park and each other.

Hope - DGSC068

I'm playing with the digital challenges on splitcoaststampers today.  Today's challenge (DGSC068) is: Journaling on a Photo. You can view the challenge and the link to view all the pages created with this challenge here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/digital-scrapbooking-f253/dgsc068-%96-journaling-photo-6-19-12-a-t556113.html
This is a new concept for me, as I tend to always journal outside the photo. I do like this effect though.
My Mom has been recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and the color designated for this type of cancer is purple.  I arranged the phrases myself incorporating a subway art kinda feel, with different fonts and shades of purple. I used a photo that we took at a Rose Garden in Oregon....my Mom loves roses. The photo was changed to 50% opacity, so that you would be able to see the words better. I also added a layer of white behind the photo, so the patterned DSP didn't show through the photo.

Paper - Lap of Luxury DSP #6 and #8
Photo - 50% opacity
Punches - Square (filled with Whisper White behind flower photo, so the patterned paper wouldn't show through the flower photo), Square (filled with Wonder Wisteria to mat the flower photo), Square (filled with Lap of Luxury DSP)
Embellishments - Wonder Wisteria Ruffled Ribbon and Bow, Wonder Wisteria Printed Brads
Text - Boho & Latina (Perfect Plum), Boho & Bazooka (Pale Plum), Gloucester MT & Cloister Black BT (Wonder Wisteria), Broach & Chancellor (Orchid Opulence), Elegance, Monotype Corsiva, CK Honey & Cordial (Concord Crush)

Owl Comfort You

I received this beautiful Owl, Lacy, from a wonderful and thoughtful friend.
She purchased this owl, and a few others, from a fellow Stampin' Up Demonstrator, whose name is Shirley Pumpkin....and this is her owl post on her blog: http://lookatmycutestuff.blogspot.com/2012/05/obsessed-more-stampin-up-fabric-owls.html

I was so amazingly surprised with this thoughtful gift.... bringing me comfort and hugs.
The fabric is Stampin' Up's 'Comfort Cafe'.

Cougar Mountain - DGSC066

A new set of challenges are underway on the SplitcoastStampers website for digital scrapbooking. This week's challenge is "Three groups of three" (DGSC066 or SBC12JUN). You can view the link here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/digital-scrapbooking-f253/dgsc066-%96-three-groups-three-6-5-12-a-t555299.html
1. Add three photos - same size, shape and color
2. Add three stamp brush sets (re-size at least one)
3. Add three embellishments

My page came together relatively quickly. The sepia color on my photos is something new to me, as I tend to just leave the photos "as is" in my scrapbooking. I like how this page came together, and the final outcome.
Thanks for looking!

Paper - Soft Suede (Textured), Crumb Cake (Textured)
