Fabulous Mother!

I saw this wonderful word art on pinterest and wanted to create something beautiful for my Mom.  Using My Digital Studio made this simple and easy.  Although, I did make it a bit harder for myself..... instead of creating words, I did individual letters. Oops.....a lot of grouping and aligning that could have been so much easier creating the whole word first (then just re-coloring 'Mother' in Lucky Limeade).  <---Good tip for the next time.. Ha (maybe I'll create one for Father)!

I printed this on Natural White Cardstock.

Thanks for looking!

Stamp Brush Set - Fabulous Florets (Pink Pirouette, Primrose Petals, Lucky Limeade

Blossoms of Kindness

This card uses the Natural White Cardstock from Stampin' Up! Why have I not used it before now????  I like the look of the natural fibers in the cardstock along with the stamped flower image. Wow!

Now that being said....Does it look too plain? or Does it have that simple elegance to it?  The card is for my Sister-in-law, and she loves the simple elegant look. =)

Thanks for stopping by!

Pretty Silhouettes

Masking is wonderful...isn't it! This technique is so easy, and gives any card a stunning effect!  I just stamped the Serene Tree stamp in Black Staz-on ink, masked each side of the paper, and then sponged Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Real Red directly on the paper.

Thanks for taking a look!

Stamp Sets - Serene Silhouettes, Pretty Petites
Paper - Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White
Ink - Black Staz-on, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red
Accessories - Taffeta Ribbon (Basic Black), Petite Curly Label Punch, sponge daubers, dimensionals, glue dot

Petite Accents - SCCSC155

Working on this week's Stampin' Connection Card Sketch Challenge (SCCSC155). I struggled a bit with the background piece....wasn't sure if I wanted ribbon, a scallop border or just plain. As you see, I ended up on straight edges with a texture for the background.  I believe the rhinestones really make this card!
Thanks for looking!

Itty Bitty Silhouettes - SCCSC154

Rather a gloomy, dreary day today (at least it's not snow....right?!).  Working on the Stampin Connection Card Sketch Challenge (SCCSC154), and thought I'd brighten up my day using cheerful colors! I also used the stamp set Summer Silhouettes!!!!!  <--- Now, how's that for thinking warmer, sunny weather! =)

Dole Whip - DGSC097

Working on a few past challenges on splitcoaststampers website.  This on DGSC097, is a Stretch Your Sketch Challenge.  Here, you create a scrapbook page based on a card sketch.  The card sketch that I used was also from Splitcoaststampers - SC077.

A technique that I want to point out is the "Attach to Shape" text.  This allows the text to follow the shape of my heart punch on this page.  I love My Digital Studio.

Thanks for looking!

Background Paper - Sweet Shop DSP #10
Embellishments - Striped Grosgrain Ribbon - Early Esppreso
Punch - Square (filled w/Sweet Shop DSP #6), Heart (Soft Suede)
Font - Signboard (Whisper White - attached to shape), Scriptina (Soft Suede and Daffodil Delight), Elephant (Soft Suede and Daffodil Delight)

Happiness

Today I wanted to try some techniques on my page "Grouped Photo Boxes", "Re-coloring Embellisments" and "Multi-Colored Stamps".

I incorporated the MDS Challenge (Valentine's Project), as well as the Splitcoaststampers Challenge - DGSC099 (Technique Challenge) for my page.

I used a photo taken in 2010, while vacationing in Hawaii! We so LOVE Hawaii! =)

For the "Grouped Photo Boxes" I created 6 photo boxes and grouped them together before adding my photo.
For "Re-coloring Embellishments", I chose the hearts border.  It originally had several different color hearts on it.  I selected "Pretty in Pink" and  it changed them to wonderful shades of pink.
For the "Multi-Colored Stamps", I chose the stamp "Happiness".  I colored each letter Whisper White, Early Espresso or Pretty in Pink".

Thanks for looking!

Background Paper - Crumb Cake
Embellishments - Strength and Hope (hearts border - recolored Pretty in Pink), Striped Grosgrain Ribbon - Pretty in Pink, Lemonade Stand (large pearl)
Stamp Brush Sets - Natural Composition Overlays (Early Espresso), Decorative Overlays (Early Espresso), Lemonade Stand (title happiness - Whisper White, Early Espresso and Pretty in Pink), Lemonade Stand (heart - Pretty in Pink)
Punches - Dotted Scallop Ribbon (Pretty in Pink)

Flowering Curls

This finished card looks nothing like what I envisioned in my head, but I'm happy with the results.  I wanted to use flowers on either side of the sentiment and at first chose a green color.  I ended up using the Flowering Flourishes stamp in Sahara Sand! hahaha

Thanks for stopping by!

Stamp Sets - Flowering Flourishes, Curly Cute
Paper - Regal Rose, Whisper White
Ink - Regal Rose, Sahara Sand
Accessories - Old Olive Taffeta Ribbon, Basic Pearls, glue dots

Chocolate Bunny

OMG! I couldn't resist creating this using My Digital Studio.  I've seen similar cards, shirts and cartoons created with this same saying, so wanted to try my hand at it! =)

I do have to say, that it was a bit tough trying to get the scallop circle punch (used for the bite marks on the ear and butt) aligned perfectly with the background paper (but I did it!).
I colored in the Chocolate Bunny stamp using the freeform tool -- Chocolate Chip color.
After printing on Whisper White cardstock....I placed the card front on Daffodil Delight cardstock.

Thanks for taking a look!

Stamp Sets - Chocolate Bunny (Early Espresso and colored in with Chocolate Chip), Inspired By Nature (grass - Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Wild Wasabi, Always Artichoke), Spring Fever (word bubble - Early Espresso), Twitterpated (basket weave - Perfect Plum), Easter Blossoms (words- Early Espresso)
Background Paper - Sunshine and Sprinkles DSP #10
Punches - Square (filled w/Perfect Plum and Pale Plum), Scallop Circle (Sunshine and Sprinkles DSP #10)
Embellishments - Striped Grosgrain Ribbon (Daffodil Delight)
Font - Broach (Early Espresso)

Birthday Garden - FMS70

I created this card using the Freshly Made Sketch Challenge (FMS70).  You may view the sketch and all the creations created with it here: http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/2013/01/freshly-made-sketches-70-sketch-by-rita.html.

I really like this color combination.  Although, now that I look more closely....the woodgrain piece doesn't match up to the cardstock in the background.  I will definitely need to redo that piece before sending my birthday card out! LOL!  Ah....the life of a perfectionist! It's in all of us isn't it?

Thanks for looking!

Stamp Sets - Secret Garden, Itty Bitty Banners

Working on another page of my 2010 photobook.  I have tons of photos from our Hawaii vacation in October of 2010....there will be more pages to come on this subject! =)  However, I did want to play with the Paper Craft Crew Scrap Sketch (PCCSS002).

Soft Hearts

I saw the card on the right (brown hearts) on pinterest (Created by "I'm in Haven" blog designer) and wanted to create something similar with stamps that I had.  I also wanted to make it with shades of red.
My version (on the right), turned out cute. Although, I'm not sure I like how I colored in the flowers on the Simply Soft stamp with Smooch Ink (first with Moonlight and then with Illuminate Ink).

Thanks for looking!

Lazer Xtreme - MDSM005

Still plugging away, trying to complete my 2010 photobook.  I so wanted to get it finished and printed by the end of 2012, but that didn't happen.  SO..... my goal now is to get it done by the end of 2013! lol! Hopefully, it'll be done sooner than Dec 2013, so I can go on to my 2011 photobook! =)

I used MDS Monday's Sketch Challenge (MDSM005) to complete this scrapbook page. I turned it into a two-page spread to fit my needs.  You may view the challenge and all the submissions for the MDS Monday Challenge here: http://mdsmonday.blogspot.com/2013/01/mdsm5-heidis-our-host.html

Childhood Tree - DGSC095

Wow! It's been a long break for me from making cards or scrapbook pages!  I did enjoy visiting with family during the Holidays! =)

I decided to work on my 2010 photobook (yes, I thought I would finish 2010 by the end of 2012, but.....I'm still creating for August pages.  I have a long way to go!). Hopefully, with the new year...It will motivate me to get it done!

I created this page using the Splitcoaststampers (DGSC095- Inspired by the Hobbit) Challenge. It  inspired us to use the colors white, brown, gray and two blues.  I used photos from my parents' backyard and our childhood tree.  The tree was getting infested, so it was removed in August 2010. So many memories with that tree.... I still miss it whenever I visit my folks.
