Dallas Arboretum - MDSM65

Started work on our 2013 Scrapbook. So good to know that I'm only one year behind and not two! =)
I loved this simple sketch found on the MDS Monday Blog.  You are welcome to view the challenge and all the pages created with the sketch here: http://mdsmonday.blogspot.com/2014/05/mdsm65-skys-limit-on-your-imagination.html

At first, I thought a colored background (maybe Old Olive) would have been great for this page, but as I kept changing the background colors nothing was looking right.  Then I tried just plain white....and poof.... I believe it makes my page perfect!

Also, I wanted to use Watercolor Wonder DSP....and that's what I used to fill in the Flag and Flower punches.

I created a two-page spread to go along with the top scrapbook page:

Thanks for taking a look!

Supplies Used:
Background - Whisper White
Embellishments - Round Buttons (Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Chip)
Stamp Brush Set - Bunch of Backgrounds (Riot of Petals - I used the color picker tool to select the green in the Watercolor Wonder DSP in the Flag Punch)
Punch - Flag (Watercolor Wonder DSP #6, #9); Flower (Watercolor Wonder DSP #2)
Font - Franciscan (I used the color picker tool to select the green in the Watercolor Wonder DSP in the Flag Punch)

MDS Baseball Pennant

I wanted to re-create a card that I found on Pinterest.... using My Digital Studio (since I didn't have the punches available in the physical sense).  I printed the baseball out on Whisper White cardstock.

I, then, stamped the sentiment (Cherry Cobbler).... I stamped and cut-out the banner 'a' (Night of Navy) and the star (Daffodil Delight) and added them to my card to finish it.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Supplies Used:
Stamp set - Perfect Pennants
Paper - Night of Navy, Whisper White
Ink - Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight
Accessories - scissors

MDS - Circle Punch (Whisper White and Night of Navy); Stamp Brush Set (Glimmer Kit - chevron - cropped to show only one - Cherry Cobbler)

Six-Sided Birthday

I saw a similar card (on Pinterest), and liked it....so I created my own. As I was creating my, though.... I decided NOT to overlap the hexagons like Jill did in hers here: http://jill031070.blogspot.com/2013/07/happy-fathers-day-late.html

Not sure I like mine all too much.  What are your thoughts?

Thanks for looking!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets - Remembering your Birthday, Six-Sided Sampler
Paper - Night of Navy, Whisper White
Ink - Night of Navy and Sahara Sand

Baroque Petals

I sort of CASEd this card....well, at least the layout.  Here was my inspiration (that I got from Pinterest):

I had wanted to use Rich Razzleberry, but noticed that when I stamped my sentiment on it.... you couldn't really see the sentiment.  So.... I changed up the cardstock and used Whisper White instead.

Thanks for looking!

Stamp sets - Blooming with Kindness, Petite Petals
Paper - Rich Razzleberry, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink - Rich Razzleberry, Black Staz-on

MDS Minion

I loved the Minions in the 'Despicable Me' movies..... who doesn't!  Well, I've seen so many variations of punch art on boards throughout the internet.....and I thought.... I can create one too.  BUT.... I do not have that many punches. Darn!  Oh Wait!  Not to worry..... with My Digital Studio software..... I can use and manipulate punches within that software.  Yay!

Now.... I do have to tell you that I created my card by looking at Gill Prescott's lovely punch art card.

After printing the card on Whisper White cardstock, I mounted it on Basic Black and then Daffodil Delight cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by!
