Harvest Leaves

I saw a card on Pinterest that had a flower on top and bottom with writing in the middle.  I liked that look a lot, so decided to create a Thanksgiving card with the same placement.

I stamped the leaf print around the border of the Cajun Craze background piece.

Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Thanksgiving!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets - Harvest Home, Vintage Leaves
Ink - Early Espresso
Paper - Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Naturals Ivory

Veteran Thanks

I found inspiration for this card from Pinterest... I really liked how the placement/layout of the circled sentiment was on 'Scrapaholicbond26's' (Splitcoaststampers member name) card.
Here is her card:

In trying to create the circled sentiment piece, I used My Memories Suite digital software. I did find that it's easier to create sentiments that curve in MMS rather than in my old MDS (My Digital Studio).  With MMS, you just create your text inside a text box and then.... select a button on the right-hand side of the screen that says "Curve".  Once this button is selected you can choose 'Inside Circle' or 'Outside Circle'. So much easier than 'Attaching it to Shape'.  Although, if you look closely... the text isn't as smooth curving as I know it is when you 'Attach to Shape'.  But... it still looks great!

I chose to use a Patriotic flag image behind the sentiment in the middle. I did this by bringing down the opacity of the image... thus the words stand out.

Once complete in MMS, I printed it out on Whisper White cardstock and finished the card the traditional way.  I used the Square Lattice TIEF for the embossed background and adhered the stars and circle sentiment with dimensionals and glue dots to make them 'pop'.

Happy Veterans Day to All Who Serve/Have Served! Thank You!

Thanks for looking!

Supplies Used
MMS - Patriotic Tissue (flag); Font (bookman old style, arial and cordial in Black); Star punch
Paper - Whisper White, Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler
Accessories - Star Punch, Taffeta Ribbon (Soft Suede), dimensionals, glue dots

Woodgrain Blossoms

I wanted to create a card using my new stamp set 'Birthday Blossoms'.  And how appropriate it is for my Aunt's birthday!
I embossed the top and bottom of my white paper before stamping the sentiment in-between. Not sure if you can see it in my photo, though.
At first I stamped each flower with the corresponding ink that went with the paper, but thought the flowers didn't really 'pop' off the paper.  So, I finally stamped them all in Early Espresso to make the definition stand out.
I punch each flower out using the pansy punch and cut each leaf with scissors.

Thanks for looking!

Stamp Set - Birthday Blossoms
Ink - Early Espresso
Paper - Pumpkin Pie, Early Espresso, Hello Honey, Whisper White, Always Artichoke
Accessories - Big Shot, Woodgrain TIEF, Pansy Punch, scissors, glue dots

Tin of Boys

My nephew LOVES Legos, so when the new stamp set 'Boys Will Be Boys' came out... I knew I had to get this set.  Who doesn't like playing with Legos?

I stamped the image and sentiment in Black Staz-on and colored the Legos in with the Aqua Painter.

The strip of striped paper is from the Brights DSP collection.

Thanks for taking a look.

Ink - Black Staz-on, Real Red, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight

Best of Spring

I saw a similar card (in blue) that used white embossing on a light blue cardstock and watercoloring in dark blue.  I wanted to try to create one using pink.

I stamped the image with Versamark and used White Embossing powder on Pink Pirouette cardstock.

I then used my Aqua Painter to watercolor the leaves (Old Olive) and flower (Melon Mambo).

I got the chance to use my Curvy Corner Trio Punch for the first time -- makes for a more feminine card.

Thanks for looking!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets - Best Thoughts, Circle of Spring
Ink - Versamark, Old Olive, Melon Mambo
Paper - Pink Pirouette, Old Olive, Melon Mambo
Accessories - White Embossing powder, Heat Tool, Aqua Painter, Curvy Corner Trio Punch, Corner Round Punch, Taffeta Ribbon (Melon Mambo)

Tualatin Crawfish Festival

Continuing my work on our 2015 photobook with our visit to the Tualatin Crawfish Festival. It was a great community get-together with food booths, live music, a marathon, business vendors... and of course.... Crawfish!  It was our first time for trying crawfish, so it was a bit unsettling for me to see the heads and feet still on.  BUT... once you get the feet and heads off -- the meat tasted good. I do have to say that it was a lot of work for the little bit of meat that you do get.  Not sure if we will go back next year. At least we can say 'Yes we tried it!' =)

Supplies used:
background - Crumb Cake
Stamp Brush Sets - Natural Composition Overlays
Embellishments - Country Sunflowers (twine and tag); Life's a Beach (crab)
Punch - Square (filled w/July Blog Train DSP); Tasteful Trim (filled w/blue)
Font - Beach and Beetle (brown)

Wonderful Day

Here is the card I created for my sister and her family -- who just moved into their new home in Colorado! I have to say, this is not my own creation.  When I saw Heather Klump's card, I just new I had to CASE it.  Thanks Heather for your wonderful creation!
Here is her card:

Now that I see her card again... I notice that her houses do not go off the edge.  Hmm... does mine look bad with that one house being cut off.  Maybe I should add another house to the right side. Hmm... decisions, decisions.

I know my sister will love the card! So excited for her and her family to start a new chapter in their lives.

Thanks for taking a look!

Ink - Versamark, Lost Lagoon
